In order to meet the heat demand of Schweizer Zucker AG at its Aarberg site in Switzerland, a biomass power plant has been constructed at the same location. Martin GmbH was charged to build the wood-fired power plant.
In different zones of the steam boiler and the two cyclones, flue ash is generated, which is discharged by means of mechanical conveyors and fed, following its reduction in size, into an ash silo via pressure conveying vessel transport.
STAG installed the standardised combination of mechanical conveying by means of a trough chain conveyor, processing using an impact mill and subsequent pneumatic conveying via pressure conveying vessels.

The impact mill has been specially designed for breaking up agglomerated material within the bulk product. This application is mainly used in the treatment of boiler ash originating from incineration plants.
The double-sided sealing turn slide valve has been especially designed for pneumatic conveying as part of the STAG pressure conveying vessel technology. No other system can satisfy the high demands of this application.
