New WtE plants in Moscow

Four new WtE plants will be built around the Russian capital Moscow over the next few years. "Waste to energy" serves to supply electricity to around 1.5 million inhabitants. The plants also lead to a significant reduction and dismantling of landfills.

For the first plant with three kiln lines approx. 80 km south-east of the city centre, STAG is planning and supplying the boiler and fabric filter ash removal and the handling of powdered activated carbon and hydrated lime for the flue gas cleaning system on behalf of Hitachi Zosen Inova AG. Standardized systems and the proven STAG products such as troughed chain conveyors and rotary valves MVP and DVP for pneumatic ash handling result in high operational reliability.

All equipment is delivered certified according to Russian specifications. The silo accessories and the dosing and conveying systems for the activated carbon injection are designed according to european ATEX guidelines.
