Lignite Unloading
At the Brandenburg site, STAG was commissioned by Rheinbraun Brennstoff GmbH to build a terminal for transferring lignite dust from rail to road. STAG planned, engineered, installed, and successfully commissioned the entire plant. The project was completed in March 2011 and handed over to the customer.
Thanks to our many years of experience in handling dust-explosive bulk materials, as well as our innovative approach to logistics, STAG was able to secure the coveted overall contract.
The lignite dust is delivered in unit trains of 20 wagons each and pneumatically unloaded into two storage silos, each with a capacity of 1,300 m3. From the storage silos, the silo trucks are filled. They transport the lignite dust to the end customers. Once a year, a STAG Service Manager inspects the entire plant and documents its current condition. This approach is part of the STAG Life Cycle philosophy.
